Questioning - Live Theater Performance

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Questioning is a live theater performance debuting this summer in Los Angeles. The performance will also be video recorded and screened in museums, galleries and arts institutions. Questioning re-enacts a true story: in 2024 a visual artist was interrogated by government officials because she had become a licensed private investigator in order to make artwork. Over the course of an hour, agents probe for answers, hoping to make the case that being an artist is different from being a detective. Unfortunately for the officials, they soon realize the artist is thrilled to be questioned—fodder for more artwork—and that they’ve become reluctant collaborators in the next chapter of the project. IMPORTANT NOTE: the entire performance of Questioning will be lip-synced to an actual audio recording of the interrogation. Actors should be adept at memorization and must be skilled lip-syncers. Priority for call backs will be given to actors who perfectly and compellingly mouth the audition audio.
