Jonah
About the Job
JONAH is the an aggressively smart boy. Raised in a family of NASA engineers and the stars as their chalkboard, Jonah's fascination with space is generational. He doesn't play the same as other boys his age. A rock isn't just a rock, its evidence of a world long before his time. Skipping a rock across a pond isn't an accident, its a study of the ripples and the beauty of time. For the purposes of the production day, Jonah will have no dialogue. The scene is a glimpse of the full film, a dream of our main character's wish of what could have been. The focus of the shots will be on moments, not details: A mother running her hand through Jonah's hair, a rock being picked up from the ground, a far off look at the sky wondering when the father will be coming home.
