ALEXANDRA “ALEX” MORALES - Afro-Latina ( She has a Mexican Father and African American Mother) she is tall, athletic, commanding presence. A former Euro-league star whose career was derailed by injury and personal demons (addiction and family trauma). She returns to Oakland reluctantly to coach her old high school girls’ basketball team. Sharp-tongued and guarded on the surface, but carries deep compassion and leadership. Seeking: Charismatic actress (30–35) with strong athletic credibility and emotional range. Must portray both toughness and vulnerability. Because she’s a basketball coach she should know how to handle a basketball and dribble but doesn’t need to be a serious player. If you do know how to play basketball.
