Emma
About the Job
Emma is the newcomer of the family, a dopplegänger meant to be the “replacement” for the family’s dead sister. Emma is extremely shy, soft-spoken, emotionally and physically bruised, malleable, and still quietly perceptive. She appears to be integrated into the family, and maintains politeness until a certain point in the film where she drops her act. She has been playing along out of necessity or fear. Emma is the film’s emotional void; both victim and participant.
